A random mix of works in progress.

Let's make a show,
When least expected.
Let's make it grow.
Danger detected.

It's time to surmise
On what will become.
I'll get bigger in size.
You're under my thumb.

Scenarios repeat,
Increasing in sound.
I'll fade to discreet,
Until our next round.

A very quick pose. No time for detail. Water soluble crayon.

Life drawing

I'm going back to life drawing tomorrow, so thought I would share some of my previous drawings.

The top and bottom drawings are done with water soluble crayon. The second pencil.

I'll post more of my life drawings soon.

Conflict

Watch out for gravity.
It pushes us down.
We're compressed and heavy,
with blustering sound.

We'll collapse and crumble
from pressure and weight,
but no one will see it,
before it's too late.

creatures and a work in progress

Here are a couple more misunderstood creatures. I used pencil and fine liner pen.

This is a work in progress using oil paint on canvas. I still have a couple more layers to go, I think. I'll see how it goes.

Oil painting

This top painting is based on my own experience of mental illness.

This is also related to mental illness, but Ive not completed it yet. I'm trying to build it up in layers to create chaotic overlapping. It still has much to go before it's finished.

Misunderstood Creatures

Us creatures, misunderstood,
discuss everything,
from humans to food.
Our safe place, a must,
is our retreat, to
escape their disgust.

They think I'm a bee,
not a hoverfly,
with bold yellow to see.
They wave, curse and swat,
whilst treating my life
with such little thought.

Our poor crab, who's dead,
our meeting point,
was kicked in the head.
The human nerves frayed,
they tossed him aside,
he'll soon be decayed.

Spiders, fat and thin
gather together,
outcasts in unison.
The exclusion they feel,
and contempt they receive,
is far from ideal.

Us creatures, misunderstood,
discuss everything
to lighten the mood.
With no humans here,
in our own safe place,
we've nothing to fear.
